Before attempting this trick, try to make a folder with no name and you will fail to do so. This is what this trick will let you do.
Improve Windows XP Shutdown Speed
Go to Start then select Run
Type 'Regedit' and click ok
Find 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\'
Select 'WaitToKillAppTimeout'
Right click and select 'Modify'
Change the value to '1000'
Click 'OK'
Type 'Regedit' and click ok
Find 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\'
Select 'WaitToKillAppTimeout'
Right click and select 'Modify'
Change the value to '1000'
Click 'OK'
Restart your the Computer/Laptop from a shortcut
Right-click on your system desktop then click on new and then click on shortcut.
In browse window copy and paste the below path and click on next and then finish.

In browse window copy and paste the below path and click on next and then finish.
